So the usual happens. I sit here. projecting Back to the Future for a paying audience. I feel like I should do something creative. So I pull out my Cintiq Companion. I try to draw a sexy lady. I fail miserably. And I fall back on doing one of those bouncy blob excercises just to do something. Then a cat arrived in my head and I had a gif ready for the first time in quite a while.

As a colleague of mine pointed out to me several times now, there has been some great nights for Aurora-spotting recently. Well, the chance of an Aurora was still high last night so I went out into the middle of nowhere and remembered that my GH4 actually has a built in intervallometer. And it turned out, that worked great! So I spent a few hours doing some time-lapses. And put it together here. It’s in 12 fps because 48 frames per time-lapse turned out to be kind of short in the regular 24 fps playback… oh well, one lives and learn, I guess.
Bringing back the randomness with a test of the new camera!

I was surfing around Amazon.co.uk today, looking at old 60’s and 70’s exploitation-films on bluray. and I got this urge to re-visit an old idea for a film I’ve wanted to do for a while now. And also to try to make a picture in the cinemascope frame as opposed to the 1:1 aspect ratio that I have fallen into the habit of using lately when I’m not drawing digital cells for animation. I mean. I just love the shape of it. 2.4:1. I wish I had a camera and lens-system that could shoot classic Cinemascope anamorphic on full 4 perf 35mm sensor size with awesome picture quality. Alas, for now, one can only dream… 🙂
