A thought about time travel and paradox solutions.

·

The problems of time travel paradoxes kind of disappear if we make the assumption that if you go back in time, at the time point of arrival, the universe is split into one with the time traveler and one without. The one without just sees the time traveler poof out of existance when they leave. The one with the time traveler keeps on going as if the furure has not yet happened so you cannot violate the logic. And. In my head canon. You technically cannot go back to your own original timeline/sub-universe. Because, if you go forward in time, you just follow the causality of that alternate timeline. You can probably end up in a universe with other time travelers. But you’d all be forever adrift among the timelines.

And in the scenario of Back to the Future. Marty could hook up with his mom and the universe and he would be just fine… Her and his dad doesn’t need to hook up for Marty to be there. But he’d better get a vasectomy or something because procreation would still mean incest.

And. In the scenario of Hawkings Time Traveler Party. Time travelers could have shown up, and they’d have a great party but we weren’t in that timeline so we’d never know about it.

Yes sure, something, something, something conservation of information pokes a few holes in my theory there. But only if we assume that the conservation has to be on a singular universe scale. On a forking multiuniverse level. The conservation would be fine.

The real problem is falsifiability. Because, unless we make a time machine, and see someone/thing just poof out of existance..  or someone or thing poofs into existance from a future fork… It would be impossible to tell if it is true or not… Methinks.
